"but it's Hemingway if u don't like it ur uncultured swine lol!!!!"

That's the response I get every time I say it sucks. English majors are such stuck-up assholes sometimes.

Anyways, Inception, too good for words. Like, absurdly good.

dont get it; was a fun spectacle when it should have been spectacular. i mean, still pretty great but it's weird that people think it's so insanely good to me.

hey guys im an english major
hemmingway sorta blows (admittedly am fond of his dialogue and even a couple short stories but his prose is so thoroughly lackluster its just hard to stand for long periods)

again, the dialogue is actually super solid in that book but the style apart from that is just a tremendous slog with few redeeming moments.  also i just hate the story whch probs doesn't help

The Secret in Their Eyes (2009)  (Also known as El secreto de sus ojos)

Slow to get started, but was really good by the end.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  (Also had a character named Pablo Sandoval rofl)

towards the beginning i was like okay this is dumb; overacted bullshit (that was my main qualm, and the "theory" i came up with for the film (diane dreams up an "alternate world" where camilla (in diane's dream, "rita") gets away safely; im getting the sense this is what most people got out of it) made it make more sense

but it slowly started to "make sense" and i got engrossed even though, in the technical sense it was making less and less -sense-. it really got me thinking and im still thinking about it today and want to see it again. very, very effective and interesting. 9/10 actually sounds right

Sounds like what I got out of it. I felt the overacting was due to it being her dream where everything is just happy for her. I still don't understand that weird creepy guy in the alley though

yeah thats what i was saying about the "overacting" mostly. i think the dude and the scary mask dude might have been some sort of metaphor for the way that dreams (i.e., diane's dream), though you may push them back, come back sort of to haunt you, ya dig?

also dinner for schmucks 6/10

the above post being considered i do feel like he intentionally tossed in some loose ends and temporal disruption to suck you in and leave you confused---overanalyzing the movie might miss the point (and fun)
